De-Escalating Violence workshops are sometimes a bit lame in context. The scenarios need to be tailored to the context of the violence that your people experience. For example, parks and gardens crews are often attacked with stones and sticks, as the noise of the machinery might awaken some disgruntled people. Whereas in the ER room in the hospital, the violence is often a lash out with fists, feet or pretty much anything available. We build the scenarios to your context.
This de-escalating violence in-house training course will provide you with the skills to de-escalate volatile situations quickly and effectively. Participants will learn how to recognise early signs of tension, use positive language, remain calm and establish safe boundaries. Additionally, we’ll discuss strategies for responding to physical threats and threats of violence. You’ll also gain practical knowledge about how to manage and prevent aggressive behaviour from escalating. This course is ideal for employees (particularly frontline staff) seeking to protect themselves or colleagues in high-pressure environments.
